Buren’s yearlong exhibition in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami was a celebration of 50 years since his discovery and subsequent use of the 8.7 cm readymade stripe. The first iteration was a survey of works from 1966 onwards, while the second iteration consisted of an in situ work that altered the viewer’s experience and perception of space.
